I have so far been on two trips with Youthlinc, and I have been beyond satisfied! They do a great job of inspiring youth to create change in not only their local but also global communities. I am beyond grateful to be a volunteer with Youthlinc and to have the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and see the world through a service lens!

Volunteering with HAF: A School of Life and a Gateway to Change By Abbes Azdoug, HAF Volunteer My journey with the High Atlas Foundation (HAF) in Al Haouz Province proved that volunteering is a true school of life. Through field visits and workshops with local cooperatives, I witnessed how genuine development is driven by community resilience, sustainable agriculture, and women’s economic empowerment. Professionally, this experience shaped my career identity, sharpened my skills, and connected me to a vast national and international network. ... I'm from kerala, trivandrum.. During my field visit to slum and street areas i observed more issues like poverty, lack of basic facilities, no sanitation, no water supply, no electricity, no school going, dropout, child marriage, child labour, sexual abuse etc. One of best NGO i ever seen in india ... They keep dignity and truthness.... Thanku RSKS for this great opportunity... My 30- day Internship at RSKS was a valuable learning experience... I proud to be a social worker student practitioner..... Thanku soo much....

My internship experience was extremely valuable both professionally and personally. During the internship, I had the opportunity to work on real-time projects, collaborate with supportive team members, and improve my technical as well as communication skills. The work environment encouraged learning, creativity, and problem-solving, which helped me gain practical industry exposure. I especially appreciated the mentorship and guidance provided throughout the internship journey. Every task challenged me to think critically and improve continuously. This experience boosted my confidence and prepared me for future career opportunities. I’m grateful for the opportunity and would highly recommend this internship program to students and freshers looking to gain hands-on experience and professional growth.

A Future for Every Child (AFEC, https://afec.org) has been partnering with IDRF for the past 3 years. AFEC helps youth aging out of care homes in India receive financial support for education, mentoring, and life skills training to transition successfully into independent adulthood. We have had a successful program in multiple states in India since 2019, supporting over 2000 youth with over 1000 employed after completing training. Since this project falls under two IDRF focus areas – Education and Skill Development, and Women Empowerment - AFEC and IDRF came together in 2024 in a 50-50 partnership to begin AFEC's program in a new state, Karnataka, and expand the program over the years. Together, we are supporting 123 young adults so far in their critical transition from care to career. Working with IDRF has been seamless, with a shared vision and a smooth, streamlined grant process. Hoping for many more years of successful partnership in helping vulnerable youth in India!

FSD's staff in field and in the HQ care deeply about all the projects they are working on. They devote their time and energy to make sure each project is being performed properly, the communities are being respected and are getting something that will be useful in the long term. Their goal is to provide enough help to start a project that will later on be able to sustain itself, making any aid organization not necessary and the community independent, something that all nonprofits should strive to do.

My journey with Well Aware began as a donor and gala attendee, where I was immediately moved by their mission to provide clean water through community empowerment. After becoming a Village Member and recurring donor, I was so inspired by their model of community resilience that I joined the Board of Directors. As someone who truly believes that clean water is a basic human right, I can say that Well Aware’s approach to solving the water crisis is the most effective and sustainable I’ve seen. They operate with high integrity, and seeing the direct correlation between their work and the empowerment of thousands of people is incredibly rewarding.

Wells Bring Hope was started on the simple, but challenging, premise that bringing safe water to the people of Niger, one of the 3 poorest countries in the world, would dramatically change - and save - the lives of thousands of people. Under the wise and creative guidance of Barbara Goldberg, WBH's founder, they have been enormously successful, positively impacting over 800,000 lives. To see what WBH has accomplished since its inception - the number of wells they have drilled, clinics they have established, their phenomenal find raising efforts, the quality of information on their website is truly astonishing. WBH is a true non-profit. You can be confident that 100% of your donation goes towards water projects, and when you do donate, you receive a report about the village you are helping to support. WBH connects you directly to the efforts you are supporting. It's rewarding and heart warming. And...the organization is all volunteer (only one paid employee). Remarkable!!

Having known the FFF founder for over 40 years I have complete faith in her and her board's transparency, credibility, and dedication toward improving the lives of economically marginalized women and children in five countries. The work this organization does with all volunteer staff is transcendent and has assisted thousands of women and children over the last fifteen years. With their amazing dedication and passion for the services they provide, I am confident they will continue to enhance the lives of many disadvantaged women and children.

I have been associate with Trees, Water, People in one way or another for the last 6 years. Initially, I got to know TWP through a trip to Guatemala. They accompanied a group from my church to the community of La Bendicion. We were looking for an opportunity to form a "sister city" in Central America. TWP organized a trip so that we could connect with the community of La Bendicion as well as experience a bit of Guatemala in general. The trip itself was very well organized and consequently both informative and fun. Lucas Wolf, who led our trip, was very prepared and professional while also being patient, flexible, and approachable. He was well established with the community and helped us have in incredibly rich and memorable experience.<br><br>Aside from that, I have volunteered here in a variety of ways. Currently, I am filling in as an office manager until a more permanent person can be found. Everyone here at the office has been extremely welcoming and helpful. I've been working in capacity development for many years and share some of the common goals that Educate Tanzania does - help the people. The work that they have been doing to establish a processing facility to produce value-added products from commodities that are locally grown is remarkable. This will allow these commodities to be preserved and consumed in the local market beyond what can be consumed fresh. In addition, there is potential for these products to be exported beyond Tanzania which can bring money back to the local communities. It's efforts like this that truly impact change in developing areas and I'm hoping Purdue Food Science can be a part of their exciting initiatives. I've always been impressed with Jan and Steve Hansen and their dedication to improving the lives and capacity building efforts in this area of Tanzania.

Helping people by educating them on subjects and projects. This will let them use these skills to create something. With this skill they can sell the item they've created and help to support themselves.

CorpsAfrica is making a powerful difference by putting young Africans at the center of change in their own communities. Through training in Human-Centered Design and Asset-Based Community Development, Volunteers live and work in rural communities for a year, partnering with local people to identify challenges and create sustainable solutions. From clean water boreholes and school rehabilitation to sanitation initiatives and livelihood projects, CorpsAfrica Volunteers demonstrate that when communities lead, real and lasting impact is possible. As someone who has witnessed this work firsthand, I believe CorpsAfrica is building the next generation of African leaders who are committed to service, innovation, and development rooted in local ownership.

I had a chance to experience first hand the work of Miracles in Action (MIA)when I went to Guatemala with the founder of MIA, Penny Rambacher in June 2021. I assisted in 4 workshops that MIA held for health promoters and local women to teach about nutrition for infants and children. The teaching materials MIA has created are excellent. Penny has created a strong team of Guatemalans including Andrea a nutritionist and Jose who handles media for MIA including videos and helping with the website. While with Penny I observed how she networks and supports other NGOs working in Guatemala who have similar missions related to health, education and nutrition. MIA is really making a difference in Guatemala. Once I had this chance to see the work MIA is doing, my husband and I became monthly donors and I highly recommend MIA as a nonprofit that is doing meaningful work to address some of the difficult problems in Guatemala. <br>Sue Krauter MD (veteran for a number of medical missions in Guatemala so I have a good understanding of the country and the difficult issues Guatemalans face.)

Sustainable Harvest International is the real deal. I had the privilege of joining their team on a visit to partner farmers in Honduras in 2025, and it was inspiring to see their work firsthand. They truly practice what they preach—empowering rural farming families to become self-sufficient through training and technical assistance, rather than providing aid that creates dependency. SHI’s authenticity and impact are clear, and I’m proud to support their mission. More people should know about and support this incredible organization!

The Resolution Project is an outstanding non-profit supporting global youth social entrepreneurship. I volunteer with Resolution via the Guide program. The Guide program pairs young professionals/volunteers with Resolution Fellows who are leading a vetted social venture of their own creation. The Guides collaborate with Fellows to ensure the success of the social venture and provide support through mentorship and to Resolution's vast resources. Not only is the Resolution Project team thoroughly professional and well-organized, but they are a fantastic team that truly believes in their mission to close global development gaps via youth entrepreneurship.

I have worked in various non profits and as a researcher in education for many years and have seen, and read about the work MAIA has done from afar. Recently I had the opportunity to meet many of the key members of the team and see first hand the impact a project like MAIA has on creating opportunities for young indigenous women, some of the most vulnerable groups in Guatemalan society. It is clear they have demonstrated time and time again how education both in soft skills as well as academic knowledge opens doors and opportunities for young women, that otherwise remain out of reach. MAIA helps provide skills to some many amazing women and girls full of potential, who otherwise find their path covered in obstacles. They do amazing, culturally respectful work, working with and for indigenous women.

The Kellermann Foundation has helped bring hope to the Bwindi community by not only helping address the Batwa(Indigenous population) needs but also the local communities. Their approach helps not to only address the current needs but furthers the continued growth and promoting sustainability of the developments in the region. <br>

Watching the incredible work of Educate the Children is an inspiration! Their efforts to help women and children in the foundation’s targeted areas has local, regional and international impacts that will make positive change lasting decades.

It was an honor to have the recent opportunity to personally see Africa Development Promise - Impact (ADP-I) empower communities in East Africa. After participating in site visits this Spring, I now deeply appreciate how their approach enables local partners to operate with both support and autonomy. It was exciting to personally witness rural African women building economically sustainable livelihoods. I saw women-led cooperatives flourishing, and coop members proudly living better lives and learning and teaching others about economic self-sufficiency and transformation. <br>Witnessing ADP-I's model personally was awe inspiring. I saw how ADP-I's dedication prioritizes empowerment and impacts long-term development – it’s something I will never forget. I was deeply touched as we were welcomed by the women at the coops, and listened to staff proudly reported their progress. In the women’s beautiful songs of welcome, warm smiles, and hugs I could feel their deep sense of pride in their ability to learn, teach and thrive. This was as impactful as seeing the well-kept buildings, deep and holistic product lines and thriving produce. <br>I was impressed to hear how so many of their businesses have grown, creating more opportunities for economic independence and stability. One vendor related how pleased she was to be only a few payments away from owning not only her store, but a newly built home. As we heard their stories of perseverance and passion for building better futures, I realized that this is an exceptional non-profit that is walking the talk. ADP-I is a model for transforming lives and elevating entire communities as they catalyze the power of collective effort through strategic support. ADP-I is changing lives through their commitment to empowering women and their integrative approach to sustainable agriculture and cooperative businesses. <br>The impact goes beyond just the women and radiates through their families and their entire communities. I wholeheartedly support ADP-I’s work and am now a proud supporter of the nonprofit, Africa Development Promise - Impact. <br>

Caution advised. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Global Volunteers as a reputable nonprofit. While they promote a “Philosophy of Service,” their practices often lack transparency & fairness, favoring certain programs over others. My company made a donation designated for specific materials where we had served. Despite repeated follow-ups with staff & the community organization, those materials were never provided. I have also heard from other volunteers & staff that donations are redirected to GV’s more “favored” programs (such as Tanzania, Malaysia, Cuba), even when contributions were earmarked, leaving other programs underfunded. Further, volunteer fees go entirely to organizational costs rather than supporting projects, a fact not openly shared. For these reasons, I have formally reported this organization. I strongly encourage prospective donors, volunteers & supporters to exercise caution. In my experience, the image they present is not consistent with reality.

I discovered Shopping for a Change through an Instagram post by actress Daniela Ruah. The level of support S4AC provides to charities around the world is amazing. I love shopping on their website, knowing the proceeds benefit these wonderful charities. S4AC, please continue to keep up the fantastic work!!

World Vision International, Ukrainian Crysis respond is a screen. No one actually enforces organization policies and rules. There is a regional manager in Ukraine, Pavlov Andrey. He is allowed to do everything, humiliate his subordinates, being married he entered into a relationship with the administrator Anna Rybka. He uses in his interests the resources of the organization as apartments, cars. He has been repeatedly complained about, but Arman Grigoryan ignores all these complaints, and then they pressurize you to leave with all their administrative machinery. No one really checks the work, as the lists of project participants are passed through partners and I understand that there is a hidden personal interest of Pavlov, as there have been many problems about it, but again, they turn a blind eye to everything. Unfortunately, this organization does not even come close to meeting expectations.
